The Senegalese defender has been linked with a move to the English Premier League clubs last year, but clubs have refused to release Napoli’s £ 80milion bid and remain in Serie A. Koulibaly current contract to expire in 2023 June,

Koulibaly fought injury and coronavirus in the 2020-21 season, but has always been a player on Gennaro Gattuso’s side, making 37 games and scoring 1 goal in all competitions this season.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, both Manchester City and Manchester United intend to strike at Koulibaly this summer.

With Napoli still reeling from the financial impact of the covid-19 pandemic, the report says a € 50m (£ 43.2m) bid is not enough to save the 29-year-old from Naples in the next transfer market window.

Barcelona are also said to be keeping a close eye on the future of Koulibaly, who has also been offered a chance to join either Everton or Liverpool.
