kai Havertz done enough yesterday to start against Real Madrid?

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has not had an easy season in English football since joining Chelsea, but the German international could be the way Thomas Tuchel faces Real Madrid in midweek.

In Chelsea’s West London game against Fulham on Saturday, kai Havertz scored two well-taken goals, giving the Blues a comfortable 2-0 victory, and is likely to find form at the right time.

Tuchel’s Chelsea have improved ten times in defense, but have yet to launch a shootout. Timo Werner has failed to move his struggles in front of the goal – although he has brought a lot to the team – and Havertz could be a solution to lead the line.

Apparently, Timo Werner is a talented player and has shown what he can offer by helping out his second home game on Saturday, but Havertz has taken two chances that Werner, in fact, may have passed.

His form has caused Chelsea problems at times, even in the first leg UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid. Although Courtois deserves credit for this point – the board he used to keep Werner out, the striker in form would have taken it all out with the goalkeeper.

Shortly after missing out on Valdebebas, Christian Pulisic put London ahead. In principle, the American had the opportunity to come up with a colleague for what would have been an easy entry. He may have learned a lot from it, but the fact that he chose to miss the goal, hit Courtois with a ball, and then shot into a goal with two Real Madrid defenders in the middle of the gap could be interpreted as a lack of trust in Werner.

With unexpected strength, however, Havertz enters the second leg in good form. It could be the man who will start Tuchel at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
