Barcelona want to add two center-backs – Eric Garcia and one – Matthijs de Ligt as a dream option.
Barca are close to closing the deals of Man city Defender Eric Garcia, Sergio Aguero, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Memphis Depay, and are continuing to work on other possible signings, and expect more departures.
One of the keys for Barcelona’s new look next season is central defense, and the Catalan club initially thought Eric Garcia’s arrival would be enough.
Now, they have changed their mindset and want to strengthen the backline with some new faces, but it will not be easy.
De Ligt, who tried to sign for Barcelona before choosing Juventus, remains number one, but due to the financial costs involved bringing him in at the moment would not have been possible.
Another name on the table is Pau Torres from Villarreal, and the club has been following for some time.
However, Pau Torres will not come at fixing a lower price, especially after such a good season with Villarreal and other clubs, including Manchester United, monitoring Pau’s condition.
If Barcelona wants to bring in a top-class defender, they may need to keep an eye out as their first selection may not be a viable option this summer.
