Sergio Dest has a second chance at Saturday’s Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, with the first meeting of the two teams this season not going as well as they would have liked.
The United States international played 90 minutes against Real Madrid earlier in the season as Barcelona lost 3-1 at the Camp Nou. Since, however, Dest has improved tenfold and has achieved excellent form since moving to Spain in recent weeks.
He has played 22 games for the Catalans this season, starting from 17 of those he collected 1,460 minutes so far. His two goals made him LaLiga Santander’s top scorer in the United States.
In the end, Barcelona is looking to have a right-back who could replace Dani Alves, although there are no suggestions that he is at the level of Brazil at the moment.
Barca boss Ronald Koeman likely to play with three players at the back, Dest should have a chance to commit to the right-back against Real Madrid.
